Review of Premier Inn Dundee Monifieth

Written by Karen Bryan

I stayed at the Premier Inn Dundee Monifieth on a Friday night in early September 2018. I booked the room around three weeks before my stay. The room cost £31 on the non-refundable advance booking Saver rate. It’s unusual to find reasonably priced accommodation on a Friday night, even if you book months in advance.

The hotel is located just off the main road between Dundee and Arbroath. Premier Inn Monifieth and the adjacent Brewer’s Fayre share a car park. When I arrived around 6pm, there were still plenty of parking spaces available.

The receptionist was very friendly and cheerful. I was allocated a room on the first floor, facing the car park. I’d rather have had a room at the back of the hotel facing the countryside and away from any possible car park noise. However, the double glazing was effective at keeping out exterior noise.

My room at the Premier Inn Dundee Monifieith was a good size. It was good to have both a comfortable chair at the desk area, as well as the sofa bed.

There was plenty of desk space for the TV, tea and coffee making facilities and my Chromebook. I didn’t use the free WiFi. I prefer to use my own mobile broadband connection for tethering, for security reasons.

I slept very well that night, which is quite unusual for me. This was partly due to the lack of interior or exterior noise, and the comfy bed.

The bathroom was very clean and an adequate size. I liked the heated towel rail, so that there was a dry towel to use in the morning.

Although check out time isn’t until noon, I left before 10am, as I wanted to go down the beach in Broughty Ferry before heading for Artbroath. The receptionist on duty that morning was also chatty and friendly.

I was very happy with the quality of the room for the price paid at the Premier Inn Dundee Monifieth.
