Travelodge Peterhead Review

Written by Karen Bryan

We stayed at the Travelodge Peterhead in Aberdeenshire on a Saturday night in early May 2018. The room cost £23 on the non-refundable Saver rate. The original price was £33, but there was a £10 a night reduction during Travelodge promotion which ran earlier in the year. It’s unusual to find such a cheap Travelodge room on a Saturday night.

We arrived at Travelodge Peterhead around 8pm. There is a free car park for guests at the back of the hotel. There were only a couple of spaces left. I reckon that if you arrived late when the hotel was busy, you’d probably have to either go to the nearby public car park or find free on-street parking. There’s an entrance to the hotel from the car park.

The receptionist was very friendly. We were allocated a room at the back of the hotel on the third floor.

I was impressed by the size of the room. Most new Travelodges have pretty small rooms. There was a sea view.

It was good that there were two chairs in the room, there’s often only one, probably due to lack of space.

We slept well, only hearing some guests returning to an adjacent room at night.

The shower room was the standard, rather small, plastic moulded unit.

I liked the fact that the desk was away from the TV. It makes it difficult for me to work on the Chromebook, if the desk is located under the TV when my husband is watching TV.

Overall, I was very happy with our room at the Travelodge Peterhead. It was cheap, comfortable and spacious.
