Update 8 June 2012 – Jurys Inn Leeds is offering a delegate rate of £68.50 per night for double occupancy, including breakfast, in a twin or double room, for Friday 22 and/or Saturday 23 Setpember. Single occupancy is £60 a night, including breakfast. Kids under ten stay free. To book, phone reservations on 0870 4100 800, quoting “Write on Finance Blog Up”.
If you’re attending the Write on Finance Blog Up Leeds 22-23 September 2012 and don’t live in the Leeds area, you’ll need to find a hotel for one or two nights. In general, the earlier you book a hotel the more you save.
I recommend that you start off by looking on the HotelsCombined price comparison site, which searches through more than 30 travel sites to find the lowest prices. You should also check on the hotel’s own site, as sometimes they offer the lowest prices.
I’ve booked some good money saving hotel deals with a 10% Otel.com discount by liking the Otel.com Facebook page, which then generates a 10% discount code. You can also sometimes find a 10% off Hotels.com discount code by liking their Facebook page.
For the Write on Finance Blog Up in Leeds, I’ve booked three nights at the 4 star Leeds Metropole in a single room, including English breakfast buffet, for £121 throught the Otel.com Facebook page (which I can cancel without penalty until 17 September 2012). The hotel was recommend by Darren Cronian, editor of MyLifeinLeeds.co.uk and event destination partner; this hotel’s very close to the venue at the Chambers.
I can recommend Jurys Inn Leeds in Granary Wharf, as I stayed there in February 2012. I estimate it’d take around 15 minutes to walk to the Blog Up venue from this hotel.
Travelodge have a couple of hotels in Leeds city centre, I saw a double or twin room at Leeds Central for under £45 per night on their flexible rate.
