I ordered a Samsung Wave 2 S8530 mobile phone on the Debenhams site on a Thursday evening and received an order confirmation with minutes. The following day I was informed that the order had been despatched and on the Monday, four days after ordering, the phone was delivered by courier. There was no additional delivery charge for the phone, in contrast to 3 Mobile who charged me £1.95 to deliver a small USB modem by Royal Mail standard delivery.

I’d been thinking of replacing my Samsung Jet phone for a while and had my eyes on the Samsung Wave 2 S8530, as it has a nice big 3.7″ touch screen.  I decided to buy it when I spotted it for £130 in a mobiles.co.uk sale, as I’d seen the phone for £280 on the Tesco Direct site. When I placed my order, it said that stocks of the phone were due in within the next 7 – 14 days. Ten days after I placed my order, mobiles.co.uk emailed me to say they’d cancelled my order. However I managed to find the phone for the same price on the Debenhams site and what a difference in customer service, in addition to the lowest price I could find.
