We’ve tried a few of the Chinese restaurants in the China Town area of Newcastle upon Tyne and our favourite is the Ho Buffet in Gallowgate. Our most recent visit was on a Sunday afternoon in November 2011 when it cost £6.50 for lunch. This was excellent value for money as the selection included king prawns, very unusual for Chinese buffets where chicken of rather dubious quality is the norm. The chicken with pineapple and the stir fried courgettes were also very good. I had a 500 ml bottle of water which cost just £1.

So if you’re in Newcastle and are a fan of Chinese food, I recommend you eat at the Ho Buffet.
