Here at Help Me To Save we offer tips on ways to save and I reckon that, unless you are already practising frugal living, you could cut your spending by 10% without too much impact on your standard of living. However, you must be willing to put in a bit of time and effort in sorting out your finances and finding the best deals. We had to live on less when my husband took early retirement and I gave up my day job to be self employed, so I’ve had plenty of practice at spending less.

- Follow my money saving tips including:

- Save on food
- Using price comparison sites to find the lowest prices for car insurance, home insurance, gas and electricity and supermarket shopping
- Reduce your car running costs
- Examine at your travel & leisure spending; cut down on nights out, fly midweek to get cheaper flights, minimise airline charges, take a free trial of the restaurant discount Taste Card and search for great hotel deals
- Take lunch to work
- Cut your own hair
- Buy a flask for hot drinks when travelling or on days out
